PRESS RELEASE
CITY OF INDIAN ROCKS BEACH
Monitoring Red Tide with Pinellas County

City of Indian Rocks Beach, Pinellas County and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) are monitoring concentrations of Red Tide that have been detected in water samples taken off Pinellas County beaches.
Our partners at Pinellas County have established a Red Tide Information page at https://pinellas.gov/red-tide
While there are too many variables for experts to predict the impact of this bloom the City of Indian Rocks Beach and Pinellas County are prepared to alert the public of potential health impacts and pick up dead fish as the condition warrants.
Pinellas County has existing contracts with debris collection contractors when necessary.
Residents can report fish kills to FWC by calling 800-636-0511.Residents who find dead fish near their boat dock can retrieve them with a skimmer and dispose of them with their regular trash.
