TIDAL BASIN IS CURRENTLY COMPLETING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE EVALUATIONS FOR EVERY BUILDING WITHIN THE CITY OF INDIAN ROCKS BEACH-AT THIS TIME THE CITY IS STILL AWAITING THESE RESULTS-THERE ARE APPROXIMATELY 3200 STRUCTURES UNDER REVIEW-IF YOUR BUILDING IS DETERMINED TO BE SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED, A LETTER WILL BE SENT TO YOU DETAILING YOUR OPTIONS-THE CITY HAS DEVELOPED A RESIDENT’S GUIDE TO REBUILDING THAT INCLUDES FAQ’s-THIS CAN BE LOCATED UNDER HURRICANE RESOURCES
Effective this date, the below policy/procedures are to be implemented associated with storm recovery permitting:
•For permits filed with the City that can definitively demonstrate that floodwater inundation was less than 12-inches depth and below electrical outlets (e.g. – date stamped photos of interior living space), the permit application can proceed if complete with requisite flood documents under Substantial Improvements processes with Pinellas County Building Department with the City’s approval. An example of an exception to this process would be a home that also sustained major damage from a tree. Individuals with structures that fall within this category that want to initiate the permitting process can email hurricanerestorationpreapproval@irbcity.com. Please include the property address in the subject line.
•For permits filed with the City that can definitively demonstrate that structure is elevated and floodwater inundation was in garage and entryway on first floor, only, (e.g. – date stamped photos of interior living space), the permit application can proceed if complete with requisite flood documents under Substantial Improvements processes with Pinellas County Building Department with the City’s approval. Individuals with structures that fall within this category that want to initiate the permitting process can email hurricanerestorationpreapproval@irbcity.com.
