After-the-Fact Storm Permitting Deadline Approaching

Important Reminder for Property Owners:

After-the-Fact Storm Permitting Deadline Approaching

As the June 30, 2026, deadline for waived penalty fees approaches, the City of Indian Rocks Beach would like to remind property owners of the following information provided by Pinellas County Building Services.

Properties that sustained damage during Hurricanes Debby, Helene, or Milton and are located within floodplain areas must have permits for all storm-related repairs, even if the work has already been completed.

Obtaining proper permits helps ensure repairs meet current safety standards, protects access to affordable flood insurance, and helps maintain Pinellas County’s eligibility for important federal programs.

Key Information

  • Penalty fees for after-the-fact storm permits are currently waived through June 30, 2026.
  • Standard permit fees still apply.
  • After June 30, 2026, after-the-fact storm permits will be subject to penalty fees equal to double the normal permit cost.

Property owners are encouraged to take action before the deadline to avoid additional costs and ensure all storm-related repairs are properly documented and permitted.
